Hi there! Welcome to the about me page
My name is Oluwafemi Ogunyemi. I am a pastor, husband, father, and aGraphics designer. I am serving as the pioneering pastor of Hilltop Community Church, a vibrant, Bible based, New Testament church, based in the serene city of Ilorin, in Kwara State, North Central region of Nigeria. I am deeply passionate about teaching the word of God. I can say with every sense of boldness that nothing fires me up like opportunities to share the good news of the good character and mighty power of God as revealed in the Bible with people. Oh, nothing gives me joy like it. Therefore, I am always looking for and creating new mediums to share God’s word with people. In my local church, HCC, the teaching of the word takes a central place and the largest portion of all our worship meetings. I also explore the opportunities presented by the thriving social mediums (Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube, etc.) as vehicles to get the word of God out to people, through texts, and audio and video files. This blog, Green Treasures, is another medium that I am exploring. I count it as a great honour to be used by God to proclaim His message to the world.
Aside from my church based ministry of teaching the word of God and overseeing the members and affairs of my local church, I also run a para- church ministry, Green Treasures Ministry. Okay, in all honesty, I am just trying to get that aspect of the ministry up. GTM is a ministry arm to oversee the publication and distribution of my books and other ministry materials. GTM shall also be responsible for organising all my parachurch conferences and events.
THEOLOGICAL TRAINING
I got trained for ministry at the prestigious United Missionary Church of Africa Theological College (UMCATC), Ilorin, Kwara State, from 2004 to 2008, where I bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies. I am in the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in Theology from the prestigious Institute of Pastoral Training
FAMILY STUFF
I am married to the beautiful Oluwakemi Ogunyemi, a woman of great spirit and resourcefulness, who co-labours with me in building a godly home, and also in the work of the ministry. We are blessed with two great nations of equal strength, Inioluwa, a beautiful girl who is often accused of looking like me (she’s guilty as charged), and Oluwasemipe, a handsome boy who takes after his mom. We are a happy family, following after God through faith in Christ, and daily being helped by the Lord to grow up into the likeness of Christ.
SIDE STUFF
While I am fully committed to the works of ministry, I also do graphics designer as a side work. This skill which I developed through the gracious training of my disciple maker, Reverend Babajide Femi Moses, a brilliant, resourceful, and generous minister of Christ, has been very helpful in my work of ministry. I do not intend to let it get rusty. Well, that about sums it all up. I pray that you find treasures here. The Lamb who was slain is worthy of His reward.
